ABUNDANT SPRING SNOW MEANS ANOTHER CINCO DE MAYO WEEKEND AT ALPENTAL; EXTENDED SPRING SCHEDULE
All proceeds from Monday, May 5th’s ticket sales at Alpental will be donated to Outdoors for All, a local not-for-profit organization that seeks to enrich the lives of youth and adults living with disabilities through outdoor recreation.
“We are looking forward to once again being the latest-operating ski resort in the state, and cannot think of a better way to celebrate then a weekend full of festivities,” said Dan Brewster, general manager. “Thanks to amazing spring snow, including 8 inches in the past twenty four hours, we have been able to extend Summit Central’s schedule three times, making it the latest that Central has operated in over thirty years.”
Cinco de Mayo Weekend Events:
Saturday, May 3rd:
- Kinko de Mayo, a Cinco de Mayo-themed rail event at Summit Central. Registration from 10am-11am, event starts at 12pm.
- Hot pepper eating contest, piñata and live music at Alpental beginning at 2pm.
Sunday, May 4th:
- Cuatro de Mayo celebration at Alpental. Live music at 2pm, costume contest at 3pm.
Monday, May 5th:
- Cinco de Mayo party at Alpental. $5 lift tickets all day, live music, food and drink specials. Last scheduled day of operations.
Monday, May 5th, 2008, is the last planned day of operations at Alpental for the 2007-2008 winter season. Summit Central will conclude operations on Sunday, May 4th. All other base areas are now closed for the season.
