THE SUMMIT AT SNOQUALMIE CELEBRATES ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SEASON

Snoqualmie Pass, Wash. May 10, 2007 - An early opening and late closing marked The Summit at Snoqualmie ’s second consecutive season of allowing skiers and riders almost six months on the slopes. Additionally, The Summit was the last resort open in Washington, ending its season on May 6th.

November 18th was the official opening day of the 2006-2007 season that wrapped up on May 6th after 149 days of operation. The 2005-2006 season ran November 9th through May 7th, operating a total of 156 days. While total snowfall this season was slightly below average, the minimal amount of mid-season rainfall helped keep the snow pack in good condition. With 385” of snow this season compared to an average of 435”, this El Nino winter didn’t impede the resort’s efforts to provide guests with as many skiing days as possible.

“With two phenomenal seasons in a row and a record number of beginners learning to ski and ride at The Summit, we certainly feel blessed,” said Holly Lippert, communications supervisor. “The 2006-2007 season can be summarized as successful as we look towards continually improving Seattle’s home ski resort for winters to come.”

The Summit at Snoqualmie is a proud partner with the USFS offering equal opportunity recreation.
