The Summit at Snoqualmie is excited to partner with S.A.F.E. A.S. to offer a 2-part clinic at our mountain this season.  S.A.F.E.A.S. Clinics aren’t just for women! Men are invited to participate in this special CO-ED intro to avalanche awareness and safety clinic. This clinic is a great way to start or refresh your snow and avalanche safety knowledge.

  • Intermediate to Advanced Skiers and Snowboarders
  • Ages 14+

About S.A.F.E A.S.

S.A.F.E. A.S. was founded by Elyse Saugstad, Jackie Paaso, Michelle Parker, Ingrid Backstrom, Lel Tone, and Sherry McConkey with the intention to foster an open, welcoming, and enthusiastic environment to encourage participation and communication in the mountains during the winter safely. Partial proceeds from the events are donated to snow community non-profits.

Event Details - Part 1

Participants are required to attend an online lecture and yoga session via Zoom prior to the on-snow portion of the course. There are several options to choose from for the online classroom portion of the clinic:

    • 9:00am-12:00pm Zoom Lecture – Mandatory
  • Friday, December 4, 2020
    • 4:00pm Yoga – Optional
    • 5:00pm-8:00pm Zoom Lecture – Mandatory
  • Wednesday, December 9, 2020
    • 8:00am Yoga – Optional
    • 9:00am-12:00pm Zoom Lecture – Mandatory
  • Friday, December 11, 2020
    • 4:00pm Yoga – Optional
    • 5:00pm-8:00pm – Mandatory

Event Details - Part 2

The on snow portion of this course will take place on Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 10:00am-4:00pm at The Summit at Snoqualmie. Participants are required to bring their own avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, and backpack.

Event Pricing

  • $140 - Includes online yoga, online Zoom classroom instruction, and small group on-snow rescue training
  • $110 - For students that can provide a current transcript or Student I.D. are offered a discounted clinic fee.
