MASTER DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Approved by the Forest Service in November of 2008, our Master Development Plan outlines the next generation of skiing and riding at The Summit.

Alpental Snapshot

Magic CarpetCompleted in 2009, the covered magic carpet replaced an old rope tow.

David Pettigrew Mountain Safety and Education CenterCompleted in 2012, this new building is located at the top of Armstrong Express and also serves as a patrol meeting space.

International Quad ChairThis planned additional chair will relieve congestion on Edelweiss Chair and increase uphill capacity at Alpental.

Sessel Quad ChairThis planned replacement of Sessel Double Chair will increase uphill capacity at Alpental and provide a longer downhill experience on Sessel.

New Day Lodge & Additional ParkingWe plan to add another visitor services building as well as another parking lot.

Summit West Snapshot

Magic CarpetsTwo new magic carpets have been added to beginner areas in recent years to support learn to ski and snowboard programs.

Wildside QuadThis planned project will replace and realign Wildside with a quad chair, providing increased capacity, easier access, and better on-mountain flow.

Slide-In Lodge ExpansionThis planned project will increase our restaurant capacity at Summit West.

North Side Double ChairThis planned new chairlift installation will give skiers and snowboarders access to new advanced terrain and increase the uphill capacity at Summit West.

Replacement/realignment of Dodge Ridge ChairThis planned project will create a better downhill skiing experience, better cross-mountain flow, and easier lift access.

New Silver Fir LodgeThis project was completed in 2014 and provides a large modern space for guests to meet and enjoy food and drinks together.

Ski School Quad ChairThis planned project will provide more uphill capacity to under-utilized beginner terrain.

Replacement/realignment of Triple 60 ChairThis planned project will provide easier access to the chair, plus increased uphill capacity by replacing with a quad chair, and better flow on-mountain.

Replacement/realignment of Holiday ChairThis planned project will provide easier access to the chair, increased uphill capacity by replacing with a quad, and better beginner user flow.

Replacement/Expansion of Central LodgeThis planned project will increase restaurant capacity, rental center capacity and flow, as well as create a better base area experience.

Additional Parking at Silver FirThis planned project will increase parking capacty for Silver Fir and overflow situations.

Summit East Snapshot

New East Peak Triple ChairThis project was completed in fall of 2010, providing increased uphill capacity and a more modern reliable lift than the previous double chair.

New Hidden valley Double ChairThis project was completed in winter 2011, reopening the backside of Summit East for the first time in over a decade.

New Rampart Quad ChairThis project was completed in winter 2015, providing increased uphill capacity, access to new terrain, better flow on-mountain, and easier access to the northern side of Summit East.

New RestaurantThis planned project will provide a new restaurant experience for Summit guests and increased dining capacity.

Introduction of Night SkiingThis planned project will provide Summit skiers and snowboarders with even more lit terrain for after work/school adventures.
At all base areas, there will also be extensive vegetation/restoration work to include adding tree islands, paving some parking lots and improving the existing drainage.
