Trail Building Update: Aug. 2021
This summer we reached a major milestone in the Bike Park project - we received approval from the USFS to begin digging trail in the public land portions of the project area (Silver Fir region). This area contains the majority of the trails in our Bike Park. Thanks to the efforts of many, including our amazing partners at the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest and the team at Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, the trail crew has been digging full-steam ahead on several important trails.
This season we are focusing on green and blue trails, as these trails are essential for opening the park. The crew is also building connectors to-and-from the Central Express region in order to complete the more technical and advanced trails descending from the top of that zone. Large portions of the trails in that area are on private land and were built in prior summers. Now we can make the connections on public land and finish them top-to-bottom.
Thankfully, the recent rains and misty cloud cover brought some relief to very dry conditions. Currently the pros from EMBA have operators in machines digging on the top section and the bottom section of our beginner flow trail, Green Party, as well as the trails leading back to Silver Fir from the Central Express zone.
As you might imagine, we are eager to bring lift-serviced mountain biking back to Washington. While an opening this year isn't in the cards, our goal is to get these essential trails done this season and aim to open the park sometime next summer with a network of trails that is fun for beginners all the way up to the best riders in the region.
TRAIL CLOSURE REMINDER: All Summit trails are under construction and are not open for any riding. Please respect the trail crew, their safety, and the closed status of these trails.
