Operations & Lift Ticket Update

Thanks to all our passholders for helping ensure the first two weekends of the season at your home mountain were a success. We know adapting to this new normal at the mountain has not been easy and appreciate your commitment to following mask and physical distancing rules. Thank you for being patient, understanding and providing feedback as we fine-tune our operations. We are in this together and your participation, as well as encouragement of others to mask up, helps ensure everyone can enjoy a long, fun, and healthy season!

This Weeks Outlook

With that, let us take a look forward. This week the mountain will be closed Monday-Tuesday, then on Wednesday we will resume daily (7 days a week) at Summit Central. Operations for Summit West on Thursday and Friday are TBD at the moment, and will depend on whether or not we are able to open Alpental. If we receive enough snow we may be able to open Alpental by the end of the week. Hopefully we get the high side of the forecast! If we are not able to open Alpental, you’ll find lifts spinning at Summit West.

Silver Fir’s status is the same as Alpental – on standby and ready to open once there is enough snow. The lower slopes typically require several feet of snow and cold temps for our grooming team to create routes to the bottom of the lift. Hopefully Mother Nature provides!

Same as previous seasons, Summit East is schedule to open December 26th, conditions permitting.

Hours of operation for all areas will be added to our hours page once an opening has been announced.

Night Skiing

Night skiing requires more coverage and fewer hazards than we currently have out on the mountain, so all night operations are currently on standby. Just like operations at Alpental and Silver Fir – if enough snow falls this week we may be able to open Summit West for night skiing at the end of the week. We will continue to evaluate night operations as the snow stacks up.

Tickets for night skiing will not go on sale until we have announced opening night.

Lift Ticket Sales

Our mantra this season is to take a conservative and incremental approach to managing visitation. The number of skiers and snowboarders we can safely accommodate is dependent on how many base areas we have open; The more lifts and areas, the more tickets we can make available for purchase.
We plan to launch lift ticket sales Tuesday, December 15. However, because Alpental and Silver Fir are still on standby, day tickets for this weekend and December 19-20 will not be available at launch. If we are able to open more areas, we’ll add a limited amount of inventory to those dates. Be sure to check our online store often for the latest prices and availability.

Remember, due to limited availability tickets must be purchased online.

Snow Tubing

At the Tubing Park we’re anxiously awaiting more snow as well. Snow tubing tickets will go on sale once an opening is announced.

Nordic & Snowshoe

Typically the Summit Nordic Center opens during the December Holidays. This season Nordic tickets, rentals, and snowshoes will be sold online. So watch for more information in the coming weeks.

Mask Requirement Reminder

  • Mask/Face covering must cover face, nose, and chin in all areas where masks are required.
  • Masks must be multi-layer, at a minimum meeting CDC guidelines. Masks with holes do not meet requirements and are not acceptable.
  • Masks are required on the lift, in line, and indoor & outdoor public areas.
  • The only areas masks are not required are while seated and actively eating, or while actively skiing or snowboarding down the mountain.
  • For the health and safety of staff and guests, you must be seated or stationary while eating. Please do not walk through public spaces while eating or drinking with your mask down.
