PacWest Banked Slalom
Race the Fourth Annual Classic
Join us this March for the fourth annual PacWest Banked Slalom at Summit East! This incredible celebration of Pacific Northwest snowboarding culture highlights the past, celebrates the future, and centers it all around a classic banked slalom course.
BIG BANKS, DEEP ROOTS
Why the name and spot? Summit East, formerly called PacWest Ski Area, was selected as the location because of its deep history in snowboarding. PacWest Ski Area hosted many classic competitions from the early days of the snowboarding including the Good ‘N’ Fruity Jam, and the Urban Circus Jumpfest among others. Many legendary snowboarders grew up riding here or made turns at this special little mountain, including Craig Kelly, Peter Line, and Jamie Lynn to name a few.
The PacWest Banked Slalom is hosted by Marcel Dolak, a longtime Summit at Snoqualmie local who first took his turns under Julie’s Chair approximately 36 years ago. He has been a strong competitor in banked slaloms, and is excited to keep this event going. Marcel’s co-host is Olivia Cayley, who also lives in Hyak. Olivia has a passion for snowboarding and events, and looks forward to the PacWest Banked Slalom being an amazing community gathering for years to come.
Huge thank you to all the sponsors of this event, we couldn't do this without you!
