Westy's Wildside Western Race Series
SnowGoat Skimo's three-race series at Summit West is back! Perfect for skimo newcomers, this race includes non-technical skinning, transitions, a bootpack, and a sprint finish. Seasoned racers can use it as early-season training, gear testing, or just for fun!
Pricing and Registration:
$40 registration fee per race, if registering more than two weeks in advance. Price increases $10 two weeks prior to event. Day of registration available for an additional $20.
Youth discount of 50% - use code "youth" at checkout. Youth is defined as under 18.
No in-person registration, online sign ups only.

Heavy Mettle is a category designed to open the race up to more general "ski tourers". This division is for splitboards, tele skis, and alpine touring skis that are 86mm or wider underfoot.
Course
All categories will begin at the same spot, at the base of Julie's chair at Summit West. The courses take participants on two laps of the uphill route at Summit West - expect to skin, bootpack, and descend! The race finishes near the start line at the base of Julie's chair.
- Helmet. A helmet must be worn for the duration of the race. Skimo, skiing, climbing, or bike helmets allowed.
- Headlamp
- Eye protection
- Climbing skins
- Pack capable of carrying skis
- Water bladder or bottle
- Windproof upper body layer
- Skis or snowboard with metal edges and retention system. Minimum ski length of 160cm for men, 150cm for women.
