Hours of Operation
Up-to-date hours of operation and status for each mountain area at The Summit.
Opening & Early Season
We usually open for the season between mid-November and mid-December. Our average opening day (based on decades of info) is December 5. However, each year is different and entirely dependent on natural snowfall and depth. Summit West opens first as it always has the best coverage. Typically Summit Central opens soon after Summit West, then Alpental usually opens third. Our early season schedule varies each season.
December Holiday Break
December 22 – January 1.
During this period we add Summit East and the Nordic Center to our operations and night skiing usually begins if snow depth and conditions are suitable. We try to have all areas open for the season, conditions permitting. Closing time for Alpental on Saturdays and Sundays in this period is 4pm.
January – mid-March.
The hours shown below represent our planned schedule for the core of the season. However, hours are subject to change daily in the winter.
Silver Fir Nights are now open. We are currently operating Silver Fir 9am-4pm Sunday-Tuesday and 9am-9pm Wednesday-Saturday. Stay tuned as the season develops!
Spring & Late Season
Late March – Closing Day.
Typically Summit West closes in mid-late March and Summit East operates thru March. Night skiing often ends by the end of March. Summit Central and Alpental transition from Thurs-Sunday to weekends-only in April. Summit Central usually closes in mid-April, but we always try to keep Alpental open through May 5. Hours during the spring can vary.
